This recipe has been passed down from generation to generation for over 50 years. Because they are baked with numerous eggs, and no additional raising agents, Lunch Lady frosted brownies have a fudgy consistency. The result is rich, chocolatey brownies.

These deliciously chocolatey brownies are ripe for experimentation. Instead of chocolate frosting, top the decadent brownies with whipped peanut butter icing. Garnish with chopped peanut butter cup bits!
Add mint essence and green food coloring to the icing for a different flavor. Mint and chocolate are a perfect combo! Alternatively, add cocoa powder to the original frosting recipe if you like a more chocolaty taste.
You could even go out and add some pecans or walnuts to the batter. Make some delicious chocolate-covered strawberry brownies by adding strawberries before the icing.
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and cocoa powder until combined.
Second step: Combine the flour, salt, and sugar (the mixture will be dry and crumbly).
Third step: Combine the eggs and vanilla extract in a mixing bowl and whisk until creamy.
Fourth step: Line a 9×13 baking sheet with parchment paper and pour the batter into it.
Fifthy step: Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Sixth step: Make the frosting while the brownies are baking by mixing the butter, milk, powdered sugar, and vanilla. The frosting should be thick and easy to spread. It should have the consistency of canned frosting…but much better. Add a tablespoon of milk at a time if it’s too thick.
Seventh step: Allow for 15-20 minutes before icing. Then, on top of the brownies, put frosting.
Eighth Step: Allow to cool before slicing.
This recipe does not need baking soda because the eggs act as a raising agent, making it light and fluffy, almost like a cake!
The original recipe does not call for salt; however, you may add a pinch of salt if desired.
The brownies are sliced into 12 pieces in this recipe, but they are lovely, so you may want to cut them into additional 4s to make 48 smaller bites.
