Living a life filled with fame and recognition certainly comes with its share of excitement – from endless wealth to glamorous red carpet events and mingling with high society’s crème de la crème. However, being in the public eye also brings inevitable scrutiny and judgment.
This is no stranger to Paris Hilton, who has navigated the limelight throughout her life.
Recently, however, things turned sour when harsh online critics targeted her baby son’s appearance.
The renowned reality TV star, who transitioned into a successful businesswoman, recently found herself in a protective stance over her 9-month-old son, Phoenix Barron. Unkind remarks were made on social media about the size of his head, which prompted Paris to spring into action.
Paris and her husband, Carter Reum, welcomed the joy of Phoenix into their family earlier this year, with the help of a surrogate, marking their first child together. Carter also has a daughter, Evie, from a previous relationship. As fresh parents, Paris and Carter have embraced the thrills and responsibilities of raising a child with affection and care.
The young family recently ventured to New York, with Paris sharing a photo on social media holding her son.
The picture elicited some unpleasant reactions, with comments focusing undeservingly on Phoenix’s head size. Unkind remarks such as “Man got a lot of thoughts up there” and “I heard this baby was created in a lab. And she didn’t carry it” surfaced, along with more discouraging comments.
Paris took an impactful stand against the unnecessary criticism. She expressed her exasperation, stating: “There are some sick people in this world. My angel is perfectly healthy. And yes, of course he has been to a doctor, he just has a large brain.”
Further, she shared: “[My parents] are just so obsessed with him. I’m always calling my mom and my sister [Nicky Hilton] for advice, and I’m really lucky that I’m so close with my family, so I have such a big support group.”
This episode serves as a stark reminder that public figures aren’t immune to hurtful commentary online, and reminds us that children should never be the targets of negativity and criticism. Despite the harsh words, Paris’s firm resolve to protect her son illustrates the deep love and commitment she holds for him.
