Jocelyn Wildenstein Became Known as Catwoman Due to Her Extensive Plastic Surgery Which Gave Her Distinctly Feline Features, but She Didn’t Always Look That Way
Jocelyn Wildenstein was well-known for her striking transformation through plastic surgery over the years. Before she passed away, she was famous for her unique look, earning the nickname “Catwoman.” Sadly, Jocelyn left us on New Year’s Eve at the age of 84, passing in her sleep.
Shortly before her passing, Jocelyn surprised many when she shared a glimpse of her natural appearance on Instagram. The photo showcased her as a young woman, with classic Hollywood beauty – golden locks and elegant makeup. She posed with her daughter, Diane, wearing a stylish kaftan, capturing hearts with the caption, “Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter Diane Wildenstein.”
It’s fascinating how Jocelyn’s journey into the world of cosmetic surgery began. Her ex-husband, Alec Wildenstein, disclosed that their first adventure into plastic procedures started with eye lifts a year after they got married in 1978. They both decided on this change together, possibly marking the beginning of what would become Jocelyn’s lifelong transformation, which greatly diverged from her natural look.
Dubbing herself as having inherited her features from her ancestors, Jocelyn often remarked that any similarity to a feline was purely coincidental. Yet, the multiple surgeries she underwent to enhance her eyes to a feline shape painted a different picture. Despite the criticism, she embraced her transformation, often likening her appearance to a lynx, with “perfect eyes and high cheekbones,” attributes she claimed ran in her family.
Though she downplayed the extent of her surgeries, it’s estimated she spent millions over the years. Her marriage with Alec lasted close to twenty years, through which they had two children, Alec Jr and Diane. Sadly, their relationship became as complex as Jocelyn’s surgeries, ending in a 1999 divorce.
The last period of her life was shared with her loving partner, Lloyd Klein. He fondly described their final hours together during an interview. Reflecting on a joyful time they had on New Year’s Eve, preparing for celebrations, he recounted how they took a short rest to freshen up only to face a heartbreaking turn of events. Lloyd mentioned Jocelyn suffered from phlebitis – a condition that led to swollen legs and poor circulation, which might have played a part in her demise.
As they lay down for a nap, Lloyd woke up to the tragic reality that Jocelyn had passed. He shared these poignant moments, describing the sharp contrast from the “perfect health” Jocelyn had exhibited just days before. The duo had recently enjoyed a delightful time at Fashion Week, attending events with prominent designers, a testament to Jocelyn’s vibrant spirit even in her later years.
