The ceremonial inauguration of Donald Trump as the 47th President of the United States is set for January 20th, 2025, at the US Capitol in Washington, DC. Recently, the mystery surrounding the list of performers for this prestigious occasion has been unraveled.
The unveiling of the entertainment roster has intrigued many, promising an intriguing start to Trump’s next term. Read on to get detailed insights!
The celebration for Trump’s inauguration will unfold next weekend, starting with a dazzling fireworks display at Trump’s golf club in Sterling, Virginia. This will be followed by a rally in D.C. reminiscent of campaign days. There’s also a planned visit to the Arlington National Cemetery and a series of dinners leading up to Trump’s inauguration as President for his second term.
Joe Biden, the outgoing President, is slated to be at the inauguration ceremony. According to Steve Witkoff and Kelly Loeffler, co-chairs of the inaugural committee, “President Trump is keen on uniting the nation by focusing on the strength, security, and potential of his America First strategy.” Witkoff is Trump’s appointee for Middle East envoy, and Loeffler, a former senator from Georgia, will lead the Small Business Administration.
In their statement, Witkoff and Loeffler emphasized, “The 2025 inaugural celebrations will capture President-elect Trump’s historic return to the White House after the American people voted decisively for the vision of Making America Great Again.”
On Saturday, Trump will witness the fireworks show at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. Concurrently, Vice President-elect JD Vance will be attending a reception for the new Cabinet members.
The following day, Trump will participate in a wreath-laying homage at Arlington National Cemetery, which will be succeeded by a “MAGA Victory” rally at downtown Washington’s Capital One Arena.
The performers gracing the event include two of Trump’s favorites: the country singer Lee Greenwood and the opera singer Christopher Macchio.
Joining them will be country music star Carrie Underwood, who will perform “America the Beautiful.” Underwood, who rose to fame after winning ‘American Idol’ in 2005, will sing just before Trump takes the oath of office.
In a heartfelt message, Carrie Underwood expressed, “Singing at the Inauguration is a great honor, and I’m proud to be part of such a momentous event for our nation. It’s a time for unity, and I am deeply humbled to contribute to this occasion as we look forward.”
The news of Underwood’s participation hasn’t pleased everyone. Some comments on social media criticized her decision, with one stating, “Shame on Carrie Underwood. She’s off my playlist for lacking principles. Money is truly corrupting.”
Another commented, “Carrie, most known for singing about revenge on a cheating partner, is now singing for a man known for infidelity and disrupting peace. Unbelievable!”
Another user expressed disappointment, writing, “Carrie Underwood Jesus is about to take the wheel and steer your career into oblivion.”
The following Tuesday marks Donald Trump’s initial full day in office, starting with a National Prayer Service in the morning.
Christopher Macchio will close the program with his rendition of the National Anthem. He had previously performed at the Republican National Convention in July.
The invocation will be spoken by Franklin Graham, son of the late Reverend Billy Graham, alongside New York Cardinal Timothy Dolan.
