Daily Positive Information
The recent aviation tragedy involving an American Airlines flight has left many families grieving. Among the 67 individuals who sadly lost their lives, 30 have been identified. This disaster has affected many, including the young sisters, 14-year-old Everly and 11-year-old Alydia Livingston, and a dedicated mother, Asra Hussain.
The ill-fated PSA Airlines flight, operated by American Airlines, collided midair with a Black Hawk helicopter during a training flight. This incident happened at 8:47 p.m. ET, just outside Washington, DC. The flight originated from Wichita, Kansas, heading towards Ronald Reagan National Airport.
Authorities report that both aircraft plunged into the Potomac River after the collision. Onboard the jet were 60 passengers and four crew members. Sadly, none survived.

Asra Hussain was on that flight, and her husband, Hamaad Raza, shared with WUSA9 their final conversation. “I was hoping she’d get safely out of the water,” he expressed with a heavy heart. “We had exchanged messages just before,” he recalled, struggling with the sudden silence as subsequent messages went undelivered.
Also onboard was First Officer Samuel Lilley and Captain Jonathan Campos. Accompanying them were crew members Danasia Elder and Ian Epstein. Families Spencer and Christine Lane, alongside Grace Maxwell, Evgenia Shishkova, and Vadim Naumov, were amongst those listed as well. The tragic loss of Jinna and Jin Han, both dedicated flight attendants, was also confirmed.
The Black Hawk helicopter was no less affected. It carried Ryan O’Hara, crew member Mark Stovall, and Jesse Pitcher. This loss list extends to Everly and Alydia Livingston’s classmates and more: Natalya Gudin, Alexandr Kirsanov, Wendy Shaffer, Inna Volyanskaya, Sean Kay, and Angela Yang.
Every person onboard had their unique story. Chief Warrant Officer 2 Kiah Duggins, a respected military officer, and Sarah Lee Best were remembered with deep admiration. Elizabeth Keys Justyna Beyer and her daughter, 12-year-old Brielle Beyer, shared touching moments, leaving a legacy of love.
Andrew Eaves, piloting the Black Hawk, was an experienced aviator, hoping to impart his knowledge to newcomers. Inna Volyanskaya, remembered fondly as an accomplished actor and skater, left a mark within both the Disney on Ice community and beyond. “She was truly one of a kind,” her ex-husband Ross Lansel expressed sorrowfully, reflecting on her influence in the skating world.
