Baio, who had lived in Los Angeles for 45 years, decided that enough was enough. After four and a half decades, he tweeted, “I have finally decided to ‘leave stage right’ from California.”

According to the most recent Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority estimate, the city would house 41,000 homeless people by 2022, with the county as a whole housing 69,000.

Several Twitter users who praised his decision supported Baio’s poignant letter. “Scott, good for you!” one person said. You and your family will be much happier somewhere. You can always return if California changes for the better in the future.”

Another Twitter user echoed the sentiment, writing, “Congratulations! I wish you and your family the best of luck finding a new house where you can live happily and comfortably. Texas still offers available rooms if you’re interested. You are most welcome here.”

However, only some were on board. “Considering you’ve never done anything to help in this situation, despite benefiting from us,” an enraged Twitter user wrote, “we’ll be delighted to see you go.” Another person, pleased to be a Californian, stated, “Knowing that you’re leaving makes me a happy Californian!”

Some people made fun of Baio as well. “With your lack of work over the last 20+ years, are you one of the homeless?” one user wondered. “Who cares?” another person said. You were out of date around 30 years ago.”

The 62-year-old actor has put his Woodland Hills property up for sale, demonstrating his firm resolve and sincerity about the relocation.

This magnificent home is worth $3,850,000 and features five bedrooms, four and a half baths, a home theater, and 6,300 square feet. Baio paid $1.85 million for the house in 2010.

Scott Baio has joined the growing list of Hollywood superstars who have chosen to move out of California and into other places. Famous people, including Mark Wahlberg, Joe Rogan, and Matthew McConaughey, have lately taken similar steps.

McConaughey, a Texas native, announced his intention to return in December 2020 and gave the reason that he wanted his children to uphold his values and grow up in a close-knit family.

Joe Rogan followed suit, deciding to relocate his family due to the “insane” traffic and expensive living expenses in Los Angeles. The well-known podcaster also took refuge in Texas.

Mark Wahlberg relocated to Ohio after selling his Beverly Hills home for $30 million in April 2021, where he has family and runs a Chevrolet dealership, elements that undoubtedly influenced his decision.
