New details about Hayden Panettiere’s death were released on Monday, Aug. 17, one day after the 36-year-old actress was found unresponsive at a home in Greenville, South Carolina.

According to PEOPLE, the Greenville County Coroner’s Office confirmed that an autopsy had been completed as officials continue investigating the Heroes and Nashville star’s sudden death.

“An autopsy was completed today. At autopsy no signs of trauma were discovered that would have contributed to the death,” read coroner’s statement. “The cause and manner of death remain pending further investigation and the completion of additional studies. This investigation remains active and ongoing. No further details are available for release at this time.”

“First responders and Emergency Medical Services arrived on scene and located a female in cardiac arrest. EMS personnel initiated advanced cardiac life support measures; however, resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and the individual was pronounced deceased at 2:32 PM.”

Panettiere was identified as the person found unresponsive inside the home, where officials said she had been staying temporarily.

The actress was best known for her roles in Heroes, Nashville and the Scream movie franchise.

According to TMZ, a friend of Panettiere called 911 after finding her unresponsive inside the home. The outlet cited law enforcement sources in its report. The identity of the person who made the call has not been publicly released.

Police later confirmed to PEOPLE that an acquaintance of Panettiere was the person who contacted 911.

Emergency workers quickly arrived and tried to save the actress.

TMZ reported that first responders used advanced cardiac life support in an attempt to revive Panettiere. Advanced cardiac life support is emergency treatment used when someone is experiencing a serious or life-threatening heart problem.

It can include CPR and chest compressions, along with medications, breathing support and equipment used to monitor the heart’s rhythm.

According to TMZ, paramedics continued performing chest compressions but were unable to revive Panettiere.

She was reportedly pronounced dead at 2:32 p.m., about 40 minutes after emergency crews were first called to the home.

More information about the emergency also emerged through dispatch audio obtained by PEOPLE. In the recording, officials could reportedly be heard discussing an “overdose” and “cardiac arrest” around the time of Panettiere’s death.

However, authorities have not announced that an overdose caused her death.

The Greenville Police Department also told PEOPLE that it could not confirm the report that emergency workers used advanced cardiac life support while trying to revive Panettiere.

For now, the circumstances surrounding the actress’s sudden death remain under investigation.

The Greenville Police Department and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office are handling the investigation. Police said their early investigation found no evidence that another person was involved.

“The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances,” a Greenville Police Department spokesperson told PEOPLE.

Authorities have not yet announced an official cause or manner of death.

Police told PEOPLE that those answers are expected to come after an autopsy is completed. The examination could help investigators determine what happened in the hours and minutes before Panettiere died.

Until those results are available, officials have not confirmed whether the references to an overdose and cardiac arrest heard in the dispatch audio were directly connected to her cause of death.

Panettiere had been a familiar face in Hollywood since childhood. She became widely known for playing cheerleader Claire Bennet on NBC’s Heroes and later starred as country singer Juliette Barnes on Nashville. She also appeared as Kirby Reed in the Scream horror franchise.

Her sudden death at just 36 has left questions about what happened inside the Greenville home. For now, investigators are waiting for the results of the autopsy before releasing an official cause of death.
