Isabella Strahan, the daughter of Michael Strahan and Jean Muggli, celebrated her and her twin sister Sophia’s joint 20th birthday at Disneyland. Isabella, a student at USC, was diagnosed with cancer in October 2023. Despite facing challenges, she was determined to celebrate this milestone with her loved ones.
The group, including Isabella’s father Michael, traveled to The Happiest Place on Earth in a limo bus, wearing Minnie Mouse ears. Isabella was all smiles as she celebrated and sang, “It’s my birthday!” This year’s festivities hold even more significance as Isabella didn’t get to celebrate her 19th birthday due to emergency surgery for her brain tumor. However, her family and friends made sure to hold a belated celebration for her.
Isabella also marked the one-year anniversary of her cancer diagnosis, reflecting on the progress she has made in her journey. After multiple surgeries and completing chemotherapy treatments, she returned to college at the University of Southern California in August. Isabella’s strength and resilience are truly inspiring.
Brain Cancer Diagnosis
Isabella’s health journey began in October 2023 when she started experiencing headaches and nausea. After experiencing a concerning symptom, she underwent a full checkup and MRI scan, which revealed medulloblastoma, a malignant brain tumor found in children. Isabella underwent brain surgery later that month to remove the mass.
Family Support
Isabella received unwavering support from her family throughout her diagnosis and treatment. In an interview with her father Michael and ABC News’ Robin Roberts, Isabella expressed gratitude for her family’s love and support. Her twin sister Sophie also offered her unwavering support and praised Isabella’s strength and resilience.
Radiation Therapy and Chemotherapy
Isabella completed a round of radiation therapy and shared her excitement at finally being done with it. She mentioned the side effects and how they take a toll on one’s well-being.
