Jill Biden Reaches Out to Melania Trump After Skipped Tradition

After the presidential elections where Donald Trump emerged victorious, Jill Biden, wife of President Biden, extended a courtesy invitation to Melania Trump for a traditional White House meeting, which, it appears, Melania chose to decline.

In a conversation with the Washington Post, Jill Biden disclosed that Melania did not partake in the customary meeting where the outgoing and incoming First Ladies share a tea gathering during the changeover of presidencies.

Jill later sent a personal note to Melania Trump via her husband during their encounter at the Notre Dame reopening in December last year.

During an interview with the Washington Post, Jill Biden mentioned, “I congratulated her and extended my assistance. What’s the point in being unpleasant?”

The two First Ladies later crossed paths at the state funeral for former President Jimmy Carter on January 9th, where Jill recounted that Melania expressed her gratitude in passing conversations.

Melania spoke about her initial experience as First Lady, “The first time was tough; we lacked much of the necessary information,” she mentioned. “The previous administration withheld information from us. However, it’s vastly different this time around, as I have all the required information.”

When host Brian Kilmeade inquired if Melania would consider gracing magazine covers upon returning to the White House, he queried, “Once you’re back in the White House, do you think being on magazine covers will become a possibility? Would you say yes to those like Vogue, People, etc.?”

Melania, with a background in modeling, responded, “I’ve already been on the covers — Vogue, and numerous other magazines. There are far more important things to do than appearing on a magazine cover.”

She added, “Being on a magazine cover doesn’t change anyone’s life significantly.”

This statement was perceived by some as a subtle commentary towards Jill Biden, who adorned the cover of Vogue Magazine back in August.

President Biden and Jill Biden plan to be present for Donald Trump’s inauguration on January 20th.
