Due to unforeseen circumstances, the highly anticipated “Coast of Carolina Show,” featuring the legendary tropical rocker Jimmy Buffet, slated to take place at Credit One Stadium in Charleston, South Carolina, has been rescheduled.
Buffet took to Twitter just two days before the May 20, 2023, concert to warn his ardent supporters that the event would not go as scheduled. He revealed that he was unexpectedly brought to the hospital during a routine visit in Boston to address severe health conditions.
While Buffet attributed these difficulties to the inescapable process of “growing old,” he chose not to go into detail about his medical checkup or the specific ailments he found.
Recognizing the difficulties of aging, he remarked, “I promise you that growing old is not for sissies,” assuring his devoted supporters that he would recuperate fully and reschedule the show for a later date.
Buffet, demonstrating his persistent dedication to his trade, stated, “When I am well enough to perform, that is what I will be doing.”
In addition, he offered genuine gratitude to his fans, recognizing their tremendous importance in his life. “You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilled than I could have imagined,” he said, grateful for their prayers and thoughts during this difficult time.
The show’s organizers have informed ticket buyers that their previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled performance, even though the new date has yet to be announced. All relevant updates and extra information will be provided to ticket holders as soon as possible.
Notably, Buffet’s recent hospitalization is reminiscent of a similar event that happened less than a year ago, in September 2022, when he was forced to cancel five gigs owing to health concerns.
Buffet’s management company emphasized that his medical issues and subsequent hospitalization necessitated a break from touring for the remainder of the year, per his doctors’ orders, to allow for rest and rehabilitation.
The underlying medical issues, including the hospitalization in 2022 and the recent one in 2023, are unknown.
