Donald Trump took the oath once again as the 47th President of the United States, marking his return to the White House. In his speech, he proclaimed, “The golden age of America begins right now.” He expressed hope that under his leadership, the nation would “flourish and be respected” as he sought to be both a “peacemaker and a unifier.” The president also mentioned a divine intervention in his life, implying that God saved him from assassination, giving him the opportunity to “make America great again.”
Melania Trump’s Plans as First Lady
As for First Lady Melania Trump, reports suggest she won’t be residing at the White House full-time. Instead, she plans to split her time between various locations. With their son, Barron Trump, beginning his university studies in New York, Melania intends to stay there part of the time, along with spending periods at their Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida. While Donald Trump seems enthusiastic about his role as president, Melania’s hesitance is noticeable.
In a recent interview discussing her memoir, titled “Melania,” she was questioned about any changes in their approach to moving into the White House compared to their first transition after the Obama administration.
“The first time was challenging. We didn’t have much of the information; the information was withheld from us by the previous administration,” Melania shared.
A Smoother Transition This Time
This time, Melania is confident about a smoother transition, partly because they are not depending on their predecessors for essential information. “But this time I have everything. I have the plans. I’m ready to move in. I’ve already packed and selected the furniture that needs to go in. So it’s a very different transition the second time around,” she explained.
Notably, former First Lady Michelle Obama did not attend Trumpโs inauguration ceremony.
