Michael J. Fox’s wife, Tracy Pollan, explains the secret to their 34-year marriage.

Michael J. Fox and Tracy Pollan have been married for over three decades, having married in 1988. Along the way, they’ve added four children: Sam, now 33; twin daughters Aquinnah and Schuyler (all 28); and Esme (21).

They first met in 1985, when they were cast as love interests on the set of Family Ties.

When asked what the key to their long-lasting relationship is, Pollan explained that it largely depends on their ability to listen to each other and provide support when needed.

Tracy and Michael J. Fox, the legendary 1980s performer, are currently promoting Still: A Michael J. Fox Movie, a documentary detailing his popularity and his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease in 1991 at the age of 29.

The couple shows a deep connection by being present and aware of each other’s needs while respecting each other’s desire for personal space.

Tracy, according to Fox, is an essential part of their family’s prosperity; she is credited with supplying all of the good things in the family life that provides them joy and calm.

When Michael J. Fox was diagnosed with Parkinson’s, he faced a considerable challenge: figuring out how to deal with the uncertainty of living with the condition while also coming to terms with the reality of his diagnosis.

The beloved actor, best known for his iconic part in Back to the Future, boldly navigated this unfamiliar region and fearlessly shared his experiences to give others hope and inspire them to be resilient.

After getting a precise diagnosis but not a clear treatment plan or a plan for what to do next, he and his wife were ready for whatever came next.

He kept the diagnosis a secret for seven years, refusing to accept the consequences. Nonetheless, he eventually thought it was time for everyone to know what was happening.

The outpouring of compassion and support from the general public and encouragement and understanding from his peers in the entertainment world altered him in ways that were beyond his wildest dreams.
