โNo, this canโt be happening!โ My husbandโs excitement for our wedding night turned into horror when I revealed what was underneath my wedding dress. I had been keeping this secret all day long, waiting for the right moment to expose a shocking revelation.
Our wedding day was like a fairytale. Greg stood at the end of the aisle, beaming with happiness. But little did he know, the perfect bubble we were living in was about to burst. I had something up my sleeve, and I was ready to reveal it when the time was right.

The reception was a dream come true, with champagne glasses clinking and joy filling the air. Gregโs parents were proud and supportive, playing the role of loving in-laws. They wanted everything to be perfect for their son.
And I played my part. I smiled, laughed, and danced with Greg as if everything was fine. But deep down, I knew the truth. I knew that the perfect image of our relationship was about to shatter.
Greg believed he knew me inside out, but he was wrong. His anticipation for our wedding night grew with each passing moment. His touch lingered too long, and his smile was too wide. I felt like a performer on stage, playing a role that had been written for me without my consent. But I had my own script, and it was time to reveal it.
Finally, it was time to say goodbye to our guests and retreat to our private space. Gregโs parents graciously offered us the master suite for our first night as husband and wife. Irony at its finest.

Greg was practically jumping with excitement as he closed the door behind us. The atmosphere in the room shifted, and I could feel his eagerness filling the air. He approached me, his hands already reaching for the zipper of my wedding dress.
โIโve been waiting all night for this,โ he whispered against my neck, his breath filled with anticipation.
I smiled, a secret smile that he couldnโt see. โMe too.โ
Slowly, he unzipped my dress, and as it fell to the floor, I turned around. The look on his face was unforgettable. It was a mix of shock and disbelief, as if he were standing on the edge of a cliff, struggling to maintain his balance.
โNoโฆโ His voice cracked, barely audible. โNo, no, no! This canโt be happening!โ
Across my torso, down to my waist, there was a tattoo of Gregโs ex, Sarah. And beneath her face were the words he had spoken to her on the eve of our wedding:
โOne last taste of freedom before Iโm bound to the same body forever.โ
It was temporary, of course. But Greg didnโt know that. The tattoo was authentic enough to make him crumble.
โHow did you find out?โ He sobbed, fixated on the tattoo.
โSarah was eager to rub your betrayal in my face,โ I spat.
โI didnโt mean it,โ he cried, his voice filled with regret. โIโm so sorry. I didnโt mean it!โ
Suddenly, we heard footsteps. Marianne and James burst into the room, their faces filled with concern.

โWhatโs going on?โ Marianneโs voice trembled as she looked between her sobbing son and me. And then, her gaze fell upon the tattoo. Her face turned pale.
โItโs simple,โ I replied, my voice composed. โGreg cheated on me.โ
Marianne gasped, unable to comprehend the unbearable truth. James, Gregโs father, stood frozen in the doorway. He was always the silent one, but this time, even he couldnโt stay quiet. The tension was palpable.
Without saying a word, James clenched his fists and glared at Greg. The fury in his eyes was evident, the disappointment immeasurable.
โYouโve brought shame to this family,โ he growled, his voice filled with anger. โHow dare you? How could you betray Lilith like this?โ
Gregโs head shot up, his eyes filled with panic. โIโm sorry,โ he choked, his voice barely audible. โI didnโt mean for any of this to happen. I-I made a mistake.โ
โA mistake?โ I echoed, my voice filled with disbelief. โSleeping with your ex the night before our wedding is not a mistake. Itโs a choice, Greg. A deliberate act of betrayal. And now you have to face the consequences.โ
Greg reached out, his hands trembling, his eyes pleading. โPlease, Lilithโฆ I love you. I didnโt mean for any of this to happen. Iโll do anything. Please, donโt leave me.โ
I let out a cold, hollow laugh that pierced through the room. โLove me? You have no idea what love truly means. If you did, you wouldnโt have done what you did. You wouldnโt have betrayed me like this.โ
He continued to beg, but I stepped back, unfeeling. โIโm done, Greg. Itโs over. You destroyed us the moment you rekindled your relationship with Sarah.โ
James stepped forward, his voice low and threatening. โGet up,โ he ordered Greg, his patience wearing thin. โFace the consequences of your actions.โ
Greg hesitated for a moment, then slowly rose to his feet. He looked pathetic, standing there in his disheveled wedding suit, his face stained with tears, his world crumbling around him.
I turned to Marianne and James, who were still trying to process the shock. Marianneโs face was swollen from crying, and Jamesโs expression was a mix of disappointment and fury.
โIโm leaving,โ I announced, my voice steady and resolute. โYou can handle him now.โ

โLilith, please,โ Greg begged one last time, desperation in his voice. โPlease, donโt go.โ
But I didnโt even bother to respond. There was nothing left to say. I walked away, leaving behind the ruins of our wedding night, and covered the tattoo with my robe. With each step down the stairs, I felt a sense of relief. I was free from him, from the lies, from the betrayal.
