Why Was Carrie Underwood’s Husband, Mike Fisher, Absent From The CMT Awards In 2023?

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher have been famous sights on the red carpet, attending some of the world’s most prestigious award ceremonies, including the Grammys, CMA Awards, and American Music Awards.

They always appear overwhelming together, radiating love and affection.

The duo has consistently appeared at the CMT Music Awards, having done so in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018, and 2019.

Fisher is a former Nashville Predators professional hockey player, and his dedication to his wife is always on full display during these events.

Carrie Underwood was nominated for both Female Video of the Year and Video of the Year at the 2023 CMT Awards, held on April 2nd in Austin, Texas.

Her husband, Mike Fisher, was not there to support her. This may have come as a surprise given that he had only returned to her side two years earlier after the global epidemic had changed the way award presentations were run.

Despite his departure, their relationship is still solid, and there is no reason to be concerned.

When asked about her husband’s whereabouts at the red carpet event, the “Hate My Heart” singer gladly stated that he was caring for their three children.

She said it was customary for him to stay at home with the boys while she went to such functions.

She also gave them a special nod, implying that they were probably observing her from afar. Very lovely!

When Carrie Underwood and her husband, former NHL player Mike Fisher, could not attend the CMT Music Awards in their hometown of Nashville owing to the event’s transfer to Texas in November 2022, she made the most of her visit.

She looked stunning in a two-piece rhinestone ensemble, instantly landing her on numerous “Best Dressed” lists.

Despite being unable to attend in their hometown as in previous years, Underwood put on a show-stopping appearance that did not go unnoticed.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher are well-known public celebrities, yet they go to tremendous lengths to keep their two children, Isaiah and Jacob, out of the spotlight.

Last year, the couple avoided accompanying their children on Underwood’s tour to keep a regular daily schedule.

In an interview with ET Canada, Underwood expressed gratitude for her husband’s dedication to the family, saying, “My oldest is in school, and we think that is essential; we want them to have as regular a life as possible.”

“I’m very fortunate that I don’t have to worry about stuff like unpacked lunches or laundry when I’m away; my husband has it all under control,” the singer continued.

Mike Fisher and Carrie Underwood, now exemplary parents, sometimes differed regarding parenting. While Underwood was pregnant with their first child, Isaiah, she doubted her capacity to be a good mother.

Meanwhile, Fisher had long anticipated being a father, believing it could only be adequately understood once experienced.

He told The Tennessean that he was excited about the impending job and wanted to do everything he could to be the best father he could be.

Yet, before the birth of Isaiah, Underwood had to place a significant priority on raising a family.

She admitted in the “Mike and Carrie: God and Country” documentary that she didn’t have much confidence with children other than her own, which led to concerns about being able to care for her child when the time came.

Yet, with a lot of patience and love from one another, they gradually evolved into their roles as parents, creating an example of loving family life for today.

Carrie Underwood and Mike Fisher came from very different backgrounds. Underwood was raised as a single child, whereas Fisher comes from a household of three siblings.

His parents were his models. Therefore, he aspired to be an incredible father and husband like them and live in the country with his family one day.

His hopes came true when he married Underwood and moved to the countryside with his two children. The birth of their son Isaiah drastically altered Underwood’s perspective on life.
